New Staff Member and September's Employee of the Month: Clara Rogers

Clara Rogers

I am pleased to welcome Clara Rogers to the staff of the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts. Clara joined us in September 2008, and brings an extensive background in administrative services for managing office work environments to the Center. She retired from the National Aeronautics & Space Administration in March 2007 as a budget analyst.

She is entering her third year as a Trustee of the Tenth Street Baptist Church, in which she assists with the church’s upkeep and administrative activities and serves as secretary of the Trustee Ministry. She has been a member of the Pastor’s Aid Ministry for eight years, was vice-president of the organization for seven and now serves as Assistant Treasurer. Ms. Rogers loves music and is a member of the Sanctuary Choir of the church and has been a member for thirty years and served as president for thirteen years.

She is also a member of the Jubilee Majestic Concert Choir and has been for twenty-six years. She serves as treasurer of this organization. This is a community choir that serves throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area.
