BCPA News, Halloween, 2008

Hello all!

First up, The Bowie Center for the Performing Arts announces new rates for for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2009. While still based upon an hourly rental with a four hour minimum, these rates include a bare-bones rehearsal rate and a technical rehearsal rate in order to better address our users' needs. The new rate sheet is available here.

In other news, check out some of the new features on our web site. The downloads page has been turned into a resources page that includes information of interest to producing organizations and patrons.

Be sure to stop in this weekend to see the Bowie High School production of A Year with Frog and Toad. There's not a show this evening but matinees are offered at 2:00 on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a performance Saturday evening at 7:00 as well.

In the Galleries, Michelle Johnson, Bowie's own "Facepaint Lady" and friends have opened a show called Mixed Media Graffitia that will be displayed through December 7. This is a wonderful and whimsical show featuring both painting and sculpture with a twist. Michelle and friends will host a reception at the Center on Thursday (11/6) from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Looking ahead, in addition to the reception on Thursday, we've got two musical events this week. On Monday evening, come and Rock the Vote with Owen Adams, Stravagant, and Prehistoric in the Recital Hall from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. On Friday, we've got PGCPS James McHenry Elementary School presenting their annual Music Fest on Friday from 6:30 to 10:00. Additionally, Bowie High School with present an HSA Information Night, Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.

Hope to see you here in the near future!

Jerry
